Thanks, Stephen. It's almost embarrassing that the solution was so simple that I overlooked it. I was (am) aware of the latter 2 solutions, but they cause yet another popup. I wish MS would remove taskbar popups from Vista, or at least disable them automatically after several startups. They're as bad as a nagging wife.
