Windows Live Mail Staying Signed In Ken 10.07.2007 03:10:00 Before I redid my laptop I had the W.L Mail Desktop version and when i close the mail window, the program would stay running and move to the task bar with the envelope as the icon and would change to yellow when new mail was present....now I downloaded the new W.L. Mail today and installed it and when I close the main window it signs out of mail and shuts down and I have to restart every time to check my mail....can this be changed or fixed to stay running? thanks in advance for any help.

Right-click on the envelope icon in the Notification (formerly 'system tray') area. Select "Hide window when Inbox is minimized". Then, when you want WLM to run in the background, click the Minimize button (not the red X). This is a compromise between those who wanted it to run in the background after closing, and those who want the program fully exited when closing (as most Windows programs).
