Live Mail and Live Messenger

Can't install either of these in Vista Ultimate 64. Gets to the preparing
your computer for the installation stage and then quits.

Any ideas?

I get a similar problem on my machine. Gets to the preparting stage and quits
when installing WL Mail. Have XP SP2 with WL Messenger v8.5 Beta successfully
installed.

I discovered this after making my first post:
http://www.liveside.net/blogs/main/archive/2007/05/31/windows-live-installer-problems-try-this.aspx

Worked for me. (Apparantly the Windows Live common installer doesn't work
for different locale versions on the same system)

Thanks for this.

Tried it and it worked on my laptop running XP Pro, but not on my desktop
running Vista Ultimate 64.

Any other ideas?

Hi, Bertrand.

WLM beta (12.0.1184) installed smoothly and is running fine (except for the
UI gripes that we hear will be fixed Real Soon Now) on my Vista Ultimate
x64. Except for the final couple of days of WLM desktop, WLM is the only
"Live" application that I've installed on my only computer, so I have no
comment on Messenger.

I don't know what tips to suggest because it "just works" on my machine.
