I have a site that need java applet and I was able to use always. Now i can
not go in because itsays that I am using a non java browser, which is
Internet Explorer with jvr and java and everithing enable, last version of
java downloaded after uninstalling former, and still can not get it. I've
read about some bug with the Microsoft Virtual machine transfer to Java or
whatever it means but I have all my updates downloaded.
Any help, please

I unistalled Internet Explorer 7 after I posted my question and now I have
Internet Explorer 6 and still have the Java problem.
Can you help me now ?.

Test your Sun Java install here:

If the Java app requires MS Java VM, test it's installation by going to
Start...Programs...Accessories...Command Prompt, and type in "jview" (no
quotes), hit Enter.
Some Java programs require previous versions of JRE to run. It's usually
okay to keep the previous version(s) around when you install the newest from
Sun.

If you go to this URL (in my computer) I get the following message on top of
everything:
-- You are using a browser which is not Java -enabled. This page is all
about the demonstration of a Java applet and will make no sense in a Non-Java
browser.
It doesenot happen if I do it in another computer.

When I use this one in my computer, which I used to work all the time, once
I am logged in I get "unable to communicate with applet. This happens since I
switch from dsl to cable and the tech came home to install the software.
Maybe I should call the cable company?
If I use other computers I am able to go in without problems.

That page uses an <applet> HTML tag to specify the use of Java.
The Sun Java Control Panel app (in its Advanced tab) can be used
to specify which browser can be allowed to use that tag.
Do you have another browser which shows that applet properly?
Does it still show it if you uncheck that option for Mozilla and Netscape?
Perhaps you need to toggle that checkmark for Internet Explorer?

If no joy with Robert's suggestions.....and you can see the test applet
here:
http://java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
Go to Start...Settings....Control Panel....Java.
General tab...Network settings - select "Use browser settings".
General tab...Settings - Delete Files
Java tab....View - check all "Enable"boxes", under both User and System tabs
If still no joy, go to Start...Settings....Control Panel, Add/Remove and
uninstall all instances of the J2SE Runtime Environment/Java(TM) SE Runtime
environment. The in IE go to Tools...Internet options...General
tab...Settings...View Objects, right click and Remove all instances of the
Java Runtime Environment, if still there.
Then go to www. java.com and reinstall. Then in IE go to Tools...Internet
Options...Advanced tab, scroll down to the Java entry and make sure it's
checked. If not, check it, click Apply, Okay, reboot.
BTW, the only Java on the first URL you mention is that little odometer.
