Live Mail disables Windows Mail?
"Gareth" <nospam_hotmail[ at ]dgareth.com> 12.07.2007 18:45:24
I just installed Live Mail on Vista and I've noticed that Windows Mail is no
longer available - there's a reference to it in default prog settings that
but Windows Mail is no longer available in the All Programs menu.

Is Live Mail supposed to disable Windows Mail?

Gareth.

WM is still there. WLM just removes the shortcuts to it.
I have both programs running, in addition to Thunderbird.

WLM is actually a replacement for Live Mail on vista. So yes it does disable
it.
As stated though, Live Mail is actually still on your machine, just all the
shortcuts etc. to it have been removed.
No need to worry though, you can import all your settings, mail etc. from
Live Mail and what you are experiencing is indeed expected.
