OE6 is Fickle
kathy 13.07.2007 01:06:01
I have XP and OE6. When I first start the computer OE6 opens my email
perfectly. If I log off and log on as another user it won't open. If I
restart the computer it works ONCE and that is it! No matter which profile I
use, it opens the mail once and then gives me an error message of, The
connection to the server has failed. Account.....
Server....Protocol:POP3,Port110.Secure(SSL) no socket error 10061, error
number 0x800CCC0E. Any ideas why I can connect perfectly on start up and then
not again after that?

Anti-virus scanning of e-mail is known to cause that. Disable the
e-mail scanning.

As long as your anti-virus software is set to scan files as they are
opened, scanning e-mail as it downloads or sends is unnecessary and
prone to problems.
