CODECS?????
Eric 05.07.2007 17:02:03
I have Windows Essentials Codec Pack installed, and I notice that whenever I
do ANYTHING with video files, either the DiVXX logo appears in the taskbar,
or the FFDShow logo appears. All of my video programs came with their own
codecs, and I normally use MPEG-4 (for my iPod), AVI, MPEG, and WMV formats
for making movies... while I was still able... and most of my movies were
originally in the MPEG-1 or -2 format as well as the .MOV format for use with
QuickTime. I've had no real problems untill I installed Nero 7 Essentials
that was bundled with my new HP 1040i DVD Writer, where ANY video file that I
work with causes all of my video editing/burning software to crash. What
gives??? :-(

Nero software isnt needed in xp,it probably creates more problems/conflicts
in the OS than its worth...Also,youre "HP" dvd writer isnt hp,its probably
liteonit (mfg). All liteonit cdrw/dvdrw or roms all have firmware updates at
the liteonit.com web site.Get the update...
