MPEG playback jumpy
otts73 10.07.2007 15:42:03
I am having trouble playing mpeg and mpg clips smoothly. The files are
stored locally, on the root of C, but the playback is jumpy as if buffering
issue. I loaded Cyber Link player just to verify it was not a result of
Media Player 11, but the same results surfaced. I then uninstalled the video
driver and reinstalled with the same result.

My hardware should be up to snuff... 1.7 ghz processor, 2 gb ram, 32MB ATI
Radeon 7500 video adaptor, current BIOS update. The OS is XP SP 2. (IBM
T-42 Laptop)

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If I am in the wrong
newsgroup, please advise and I will redirect question.

Probably the graphics card... it's really low on RAM. Also, what else are
you running at the same time?

The only active program at the time is the media program used to play the
program. What would the requirement be for playing a 3 MB mpeg file?
