Difficult to say if Office PRO 2007 is really causing this problem. I have such, but on a Vista PC and no problem printing tiffs. You have plenty of ram and swap space. Can you try printing with another software available for free: www.irfanview.com or www.faststone.org
There is also the possibility to batch convert your .tiff files to .jpg files (while still keeping the original .tiffs) using irfanview and then print the .jpg using the XP photo print wizard. There is absolutely no difference in prints when converting .tiff to .jpg and then printing the ..jpg file with the XP wizard.
