Deploying software
"wmb" <noreply[ at ]noreply.com> 12.07.2007 12:10:34
Hi All

I don't know if this is normal but anytime I create a new distribution of
software using an MSI to an OU and asign it to a computer in that OU I find
I have to restart the computer twice before the software is deployed is this
normal?

This only occurs on Windows XP boxes, right?
Try to apply the following Group Policy to the computers:

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\
"Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon"

cheers,

And even with this policy enabled I find it sometimes takes two reboots
before the installation succeeds.

FYI.

Same with Group Policy Deployed Printers...

How about if, before rebooting, you run gpupdate /sync ?
