Mapping a directory to WEB: firewall / router ports
"ronchese" <info(a)carsoftnet.com.br> 10.07.2007 13:57:08
Hello All.

I need to map a directory in my computer that points to another machine
(lets call it Server) in the WEB.

That server is not in the same network, and we have full access to that
machine, so User and Password and any other needed config will be ok.

What I need to know is:

- What ports I should enable in router / firewall to allow my machine access
that Server?
- Is there anything else to be set on the Server so my machine can access
that?

Cesar

You probably need to set up a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
It works on port 1723.

Alternative

Alternatively, I tried the software HAMACHI and it worked without any
configuration to router!
O.O

You sais Server in the WEB. Does that mean HTTP server or File and printer
services for Windows accessed? How do you reach it: direct access or VPN?
Wait, is it really possible to mount a HTTP WebDAV folder as a local folder
and how?
That would be interesting!
