Sounds (!) like a hardware problem.
The USB Audio Codec is built into your soundcard.
For explanations, see this (halfway down) : http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt-2000-xp/585789-usb-audio-codec.html
or trawl through this lot : http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&ie=utf8&oe=utf8&q=USB+Audio+Codec+
Also, try it on a friends PC - do you get the same results ? If so you have a problem in the Pioneer. If no issues then your soundcard is either nazz or can't handle the input from the receiver.
