Install of WindowsXPE Studio
Dirk Hoffmann 13.07.2007 08:18:02
To all,
Hi, I have a problem the makes me nervous.
So let me explain.
I have received weeks a ago the "trial" version of the studio. I installed
everything and worked with it. Now the day comes that a customer wants to
have the first system.
So I bought the real version.
For that I deinstalled the Tools and reinstalled the new versions from the
new cds.
During installation I was asked for the Product Key, which I entered. The
installation of the tools run fine. (I installed only the tools, not the
database).
But when I now start the target designer I can see that it is licenced to
me, but the about dialog still say evulation version. And I have to
posibility to enter the pid in the buildsettings.

Can you help me?
Dirk

The Images you build will Evaluation until you enter a valid runtime licence
PID into the Build setting of your image.

When you build an image do you still get the message saying "This is an
evaluation copy and will run for 120-160 days" at the bottom of the build
log?

Sorry, I have no possibilty to enter the pid!
The TargetDesigner starts with the message
"Evualation Copy".
I deleted everything (except the database) from the PC.
So the dir \program files\Windows Embedded\ is empty
Then I reinstall everything (with outh the database data)
but I still receive the Eva-Sign.

Hi Dirk,

Your database are still evaluation version. You should uninstall all
evaluation studio and then install release version to build release images.

Regards,
Ethan

Ah in which case you will need to uninstall the Desktop SQL stuff as well.
For good measure and just to make sure wipe the repositories folder as well
and start completly from fresh.
