Cannot get audio to play on DVD
PC4U Australia 09.07.2007 09:44:01
I can no longer get the audio to play on DVD's. I can play music and videos
from my harddrive no problems. have been through all the settings in control
panel and cannot solve this problem. it does not make a difference which
program i play the DVDs on or which DVD rom i use to play it, still no sound.
Help please

Thanks

Try going into Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices>Under Device Volume
click on Advanced. Check the mute box
in the CD section. Uncheck if needed and that the slider is in the
upper position. If that's Ok you could try clicking on the
System Icon in Cont Panel select Advanced then Device Manager then
Dvd/Cdr Drives then rt click on your Dvd drive
and choose Uninstall. Restart and let XP reinstall it.

Have tried all that. even installed a second dvd drive and both the same.
first drive is sata 11 and the second is IDE with analogue output. thats why
i think it is a setting problem somewhere

Have you looked in Device Manager>Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Any
yellow marks next to devices there?
If yes, would indicate a reinstall of your Audio Drivers.
