Video will not post on resume from standby
Eracer 06.07.2007 17:32:08
I've recnetly tried to set my media pc to sleep while it is not in use. I'm
trying to save some power. I've set the sleep mode to S3 in the bios. It
seems to sleep just fine, but when i go to resume the pc it will ither give
me a blue screen or just not post video and the screen just remains black. I
then have to force in off by holding the power button and reboot. I've
installed all current windows updates along with all optional updates as
well, and i'm running AVG antivirus. Can anyone help or at least push me in
the right direction.

System Configuration:
Windows XP Media Center
MSI K8NGM2-FID Socket 939 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 1.8GHz Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3000BPBOX
Crucial Ballistix 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual
Channel Kit Desktop
Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 500 MCE White box PCI Interface Personal Video Recorder

Have you updated your graphics driver?

I used MSI's Live Update 3 from their website. The video drivers for the
onboard nvidia 6150 are not listed in the returned updates from the live
update. the oldest one available is for the 6200. I didn't think i could use
that one. I'm trying to look for the latest version for my board.
