? Restart Loop

Help!
My computer is looping -- startup > checkdisk > restart > checkdisk >
restart > checkdisk

Last night, I tried to run checkdisk, and got a question -- do I want to run
chkdsk on the next startup? I said yes.

This morning, the computer won't get past the chkdsk. I had to startup in
Last Known Good Confirguration.

QUESTION: How do I make sure it doesn't run chkdsk at startup again?

Did you try using the F8 Key during boot and dropping into safe mode. This
might be enough to break the loop.

You might also try booting with a boot disk and then fdisk /mbr. That
is what worked for me.

Thanks for the suggestions. I booted from a boot-up disk. It went away
after that.

BTW, what is fdisk /mbr?
