Stream won't play in Vista
"Joe Kaffee" <kaffejoe[ at ]yahoo.com> 26.05.2007 16:34:35
Using Windows Vista Home Premium with IE 7 and WMP 11, I am unable to play
streaming audio from web sites.

Here's an example. At this site: http://www.theworld.org/?q=node/10218 if I
click on the "listen" link, IE initially tells me that web site can not be
opened. If I then reload the page, WMP comes up, but produces the following
error message: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might
not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to
compress the file." Help for error code C00D1199 is of no help at all in
correcting this problem.

If I use the WMF "Open URL" function and paste in the URL
http://www.theworld.org/wma.php?id=0521076 (that's the URL for the "listen"
link I'm trying to access) it will stream the audio file just fine.

Any ideas?

BTW, all sites with streams that present this problem work fine with
Windows XP.

TIA

Joe

The only play link I found there was one for a Tijuana Garbage dump....it
played fine! Do I have the wrong link?
