I ascertained that sound card is active and all connections are OK. (MP3 are played OK with various programmes. I also made sure I got the latest program updates. In fact, when playing my AVI file with Windows Media Player, I do have the sound but no image. And playing that file with Quick Time Player, I do have the image but no sound........ Any other idea ? Play the movie simultaneously in WMP and QTP? ;-) Seriously though, I can remember at least one AVI file like the one you mention. I resolved the problem by running the file through TMPGenc (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TMPGEnc) to convert it to MPG format and then through the DiVX converter (http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/) to change it back to AVI.
