Windows Media Encoder 9 codecs required
Jon P. 16.06.2007 05:43:00
I am trying to convert a MOV file from a digital camera to an AVI. or other
format that will work with Powerpoint. Whe I use Windows Media Encoder 9, I
get the following error: One or more codecs required to open this content
could not be found. (0xC00D1B83). I am running a Sony Vaio with Media Center
2002. I do not have this problem at work. How can I get the needed codecs or
is there another cause for this result?

If you can convert it in the next 180 days, you can use Expression
media encoder trial, which accepts MOV input and can output WMV (which
powerpoint can read)

Also, the free RAD Video Tools...

They mention XP etc - but it works for me on Vista too.

just install quicktime alternative (available at www.free-codecs.com ) and
rename your .mov file to .avi file.when you clicking apply button to apply
the video setting, your pc may looks like freeze, but only for few
seconds.however you have remember your video output mave have unwanted
artifacts such as green line at the bottom of your output video.this method
works for my pc.you should try it

I was not able to get Windows Media Encoder to work. I was however able to
download Microsoft Expression Media Encoder Preview (30 days) and it worked
fine. I don't know what I will have to do after 30 days.

There is a 180 day trial key on the download page:
