long delay (10s) in media player stream from 127.0.0.1
placentiusz 31.05.2007 13:15:03
I use windows media encoder and web cam ( stream 64 kbps ). When i connect to
mms://127.0.0.1:8080 i have 10s delay.
In encder buffer is set to 1s
In media player buffer is set to 1s

It is posible to reduce delay to for example 3s?(1s for buffer in encoder, 1
for net and 1 for media player)

Use http://127.0.0.1:8080 instead

MMS stream support is only available for media server (and only used
for stream negotiation). The delay you're seeing the the player
realising the remote server (WME) doesn't support mms, and trying 2
other protocols (rtsp and http) first.

http://127.0.01:8080 - 10 s delay,

encoder->media service->wmedia client (15s delay) proto mms
encoder->media service->wmedia client (10 s delay ) proto rtsp
encoder->media service->wmedia client (not working ) proto rtsp

Then where's this 127.0.0.1 address coming from ? I can see 3 steps in
your encode chain there : Encoder, WM Services and WM Client.

Surely you're not running them all on the same machine - that would be
nuts, right ?

As I know, the 10 to 12 seconds delay is normal. due to buffering issues.

At least I was working like that for about 2 years.

I quess it could be am audio codec problem. Use LOW DELAY audio codec. It
works better... cca 3 seconds delay
