External access to web camera chrismtd 12.07.2007 21:52:05 I am having trouble setting my computer to give other people access to my web camera - pointed at an aquarium. The encoder has given me the IP to quote but nobody can see it, what am i doing wrong? My system is connected thru a BT Broadband Hub connection and the computer in question is wireless with a BT adapter. I have been told that the program is giving me an internal IP and not an external IP is this correct or is the person wrong? -- thank you for your help in advance.

The person is correct. You also need to open a port on your firewall(s). Assuming you have a dynamic Internet IP address: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_DNS
