WMP 11, DLink DSM-320 Partial Playback of Protected WMA Files
abonet 10.06.2007 20:50:00
After upgrading from WMP10 to WMP11, my Dlink DSM-320 does not reliably play
back all protected WMA files.

Some files seem to play fine, but others only play for about 10 seconds and
then end.

I haven't been able to figure out any common traits between the WMA songs
that play and those that don't, but it seems the newer songs I've purchased
from URGE since upgrading to WMP11 consistently will not play in their
entirety.

It's frustrating because many of the older WMA files (and all the MP3 files)
play fine. The problem only occurs for certain songs. After just a few
seconds, it moves on to the next song -- as if the song naturally finished
playing.

I've checked my firewall settings, Windows XP's event log, checked for the
latest firmware on the DSM, and nothing indicates a problem. I've even
turned the firewall off completely just to make sure that wasn't the problem.
