On the 10th of July, I was notified that there were 6 updates to be installed, ever since then it says updates were installed successfully, prompts me to restart which I do, upon reboot the welcome screen says configuring updates, after login it says updates were not able to be installed??? The updates were all published July 10, 2007
KB929916 KB935807 KB936357 KB905866 KB933928 KB937077
Microsoft checks for solutions and says there are none. I am running Vista Ultimate x64 on an intel core 2 E6600, 2GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS, WD Raptor X 150GB 10,000rpm HD Giga-Byte GA 965G-DS3, everything is vista compatible, this is clean install, not an upgrade. I have removed all anti-virus and disabled windows defender. I deleted all temp files and cookies. I am running out of ideas.

In In Control Panel (Classic View) > Windows Update, try de-selecting all but one, and install each one one-at-a-time. Posters have noted a problem with one update disallowing the others, but are noting different KB's as the culprit .
When/if you are left with an update that won't install, (Quoting a forum poster on another site):
"I experienced the same problem on 2 out of 3 of my computers. If you (1) fully shut down after installation instead of restarting, or (2) repeat the update process a few times, it will eventually take. I'm not sure if one of those approaches is better than the other, but one worked with each of my patching problems."

Thank you guys for the prompt assistance, none of your ideas worked. I searched google and downloaded the updates manually one at a time, all installed except KB935807
It appears that many others are having problems with that one as well. I downloaded it manually and it says succesful under update history however, vista keeps prompting me to install it and If I allow that it just restarts and fails...
