My notebook PC come with Win Vista Basic, and I would like to make a
partition to store data, how to make it? Is Vista can do it or need 3rd party
software?

I would just buy a USB drive or maybe a USB Flash or Thumb Drive.

Hi,

Vista can create a partition, but first you must have free space on the hard
drive to do it. Generally, most preinstalled systems do not have this and
you would have to use the disk management tool (diskmgmt.msc) to shrink the
existing system partition in order to achieve this. Once free space exists,
creating a partition is as simple as right clicking the free space and
selecting the option to create a partition. Format it once finished and it's
ready for data.
