sbs2003 and exchange and TEMPDFRG.EDB and .STM
BrianMultiLanguage 02.07.2007 19:14:02
2nd Monday in a row this has happened.
The root C: has ~ 1gb of free space(see below) and these two files appear on
C: at 0043. Looking at the Exchange Main.
Where can I specifiy that space that these temp files should be placed?

Since we have pared done the drives a lot I am going to (this is a question)
1. break the mirror
2. remove one drive.
3. install a 146scsi.
4. image the 73 to the 146 using larger partitions.
5. remove the last 73 and boot from the 146.
6. install the second 146 and mirror it back up.

drive layout as follows:
C: 10gb
E: 15gb (exchange)
F: 45gb (data, shares, clientapps,etc..)
These are mirrored, 2 73gb scsi.

Are you using software or hardware mirror?

As long as they are not "Dynamic Disks" I prefer to use a drive copying tool
like Acronis or bootitNG. This allows you to safely remove the original
drives and put them back in if something goes wrong.

It is an OS mirror.
Yes they are dynamic.
Any one know the Exchange question?

I looked at your original post again and I'm still not sure what you are
talking about with regard to exchange. Can you explain that a little more?
If your question is how to move the store, you do that from within ESM.
Drill down to the store, right-click, select properties, data, click browse
and browse to the new location.

Sorry forgot the important bits.
The root C: has ~ 1gb of free space(see below) and these two files appear on
C: at 0043 and they are TEMPDFRG.EDB AND TEMPDFRG.STM. Looking at the
Exchange Main., it is done on Saturday night so what creates these file and
what specifiys where they are created?
