problems with new users in terminal services
gingaboy <mrocks[ at ]1-solution.co.uk> 02.07.2007 14:29:07
I am currently running a DC with msserver 2003 (\\oisfp1\), i run AD
off of this and have a further 2 servers Terminal server(\\termsrv\)
and email (\\ois-ex1\).

i have had my TS working fine for the last 6 months, we are expanding
our remote office and i have added 5 more new users to the AD with
what i think is the correct settings (only because i have copied them
from my existing users on TS). When i try to log into the TS with the
new users id i get the message:

" To log on to this remote computer, you must be granted the allow log
on through terminal services right. By default members of the remote
desktop users group have this right. If you are not a member of the
remote desktop users group or another groupthat has this right, or if
the remote desktop user group does not have this right, you must be
granted this manually."

I have followed MS website instruvtions to enable this, however my
problems seems that i cannot add the domain users to the remote
desktop users group as it only lets me check the local users.

any help would be gratefully received

Please launch Active Directory Users and Computers, go to Users,
double-click Domain Users, go to "Member Of" tab, press [Add...]
Can you find Remote Desktop Users group and add it to the member list?

Hope this helps,
Jevgenij

Is your DC running SBS 2003 since that is what this newsgroup is for?
