Verizon Wireless access to RWW connect to computer
Rick <rcbathome[ at ]gmail.com> 06.07.2007 18:41:23
Has anyone used the verizon wireless access card in a laptop and
successfully connected to their desktop through RWW? I can get to RWW
no problem but it fails to connect to a desktop.

I've confirmed I can connect to this desktop from a non verizon
wireless connection outside my company, so I know I'm good there. It
is something in the VZACCESS manager I believe. I've turned off
windows firewall as well. I haven't dug into it a ton yet but thought
I would put a post out in case someone else already knows how to fix.

Thanks,

Rick

I have 30+ Verizon BB cards for myself and clients, disable the Tornado
thingy (it compresses and decompresses and causes no end to problems)
and if you can't get a signal better than (-90db) then just forget it -
they make one with an external (separate) antenna that we've started
purchasing so that you can move it up to 10' without having to move
yourself.

I believe there's an upgrade to the Venturi compression tool (the "tornando
thingy") :-) that fixes that problem.

In addition, I ran into a situation where an old version of Venturi kept
throwing up error messages that made it look like I was having memory
issues. Again upgrading Venturi took care of this for me. See my blog:
