OWA SBS2003
"Alex" <alexdeletethishammerstein[ at ]hotmail.co.uk> 09.07.2007 08:36:04
Hi We have some users away from our office, and in their SBS user accounts
we specify that they can only log on using a specific computer ( based on
computer name)

When one of these users tried to log onto OWA using her correct computer,
OWA told her that her user name and password was wrong.

I then chjanged her account setting to 'Use any computer'. She then tried
to log to OWA, using the same computer as above, and it worked.
Have i missed something?

thanks
A

OWA and RWW require that the server is included in the list of permitted
computers.

This does not allow logon at the server console, only remotely, there's
a separate prohibition against local logon to the server.

I would think so, I haven't needed to do it myself, I've come
across mention of it several times.

OWA is a website run from the SBS server. Therefore the OWA logon actually
occurs *on* the server, not the OWA client machine.

Workstation logon restrictions will block OWA access.

Thanks Steve

Do I take it that Joes suggestion of adding the server as a computer will
resolve the problem?

I would expect it to, yes.
