Windows Visa Business Client on Windows SBS 2003, SP2
Ranjit Golande 05.07.2007 05:14:00
Hi,

My company recently bought a Windows Vista Business Machine and we need to
put it on our Windows Small Business Server domain, after looking through
various forums its understood that we need KB926505 fix on server so that
Vista can join the domain. But at the same time we also found Windows Server
2003 SP2, assuming that this service pack might have this fix already we
upgraded SBS to SP2 and then tried to do connectcomputer, but it still does
not help. Also i am unable to run the Ripcurl fix, i get error "This update
cannot be installed. Either it is already installed as part of an existing
service pack, or it requores more recent service pack."

I really need some help here. Do I have to go back to SP1 and then put in
the Ripcurl patch and then upgrade to SP2?

Hi,

Run the internet explorer as administrator on the Vista machine (righttclick
"run as administrator")
and then try connectcomputer again. For me this worked.

Ranjit,

You will still need the SBS update for the Vista clients even though you've
installed the Win2k3 SP2. You shouldn't need to remove the SP2.

When you see this

"This update
cannot be installed. Either it is already installed as part of an existing
service pack, or it requores more recent service pack."

You prob don't have SBS 2003 sp1's five part service pack installed.
