SBS2K3/Exchange Server problem
Northwest Upgrades Plus 29.06.2007 21:36:02
Here is a weird problem that I can not figure out. When trying to use
Exchange Server System Attendant and Selecting Server/Users/Mailbox to delete
a user, right clicking on the user does not bring up the Exchange Tasks. Any
suggestions?

My grandmother used to say "right church, wrong pew."

You need to delete the user (or remove the user's mailbox) from the
right-click menu in Active Directory Users and Computers, not in ESM.

Run the cleanup agent on the mailbox store. Your mailbox will then show up
with a red X. Right-click on it and select PURGE.

In Exchange System Manager under First Storage Group -> Mailbox Store,
r-click Mailboxes. Although there's no reason not to run it now, it'll do
its thing automatically overnight as well. I usually leave deleted
mailboxes for the retention period just in case.

In Exchange System Manager > Server > First Storage Group > Private Mailbox
Store >Mailboxes> Right Click
[Quoted Text]
> Run Clean-up Agent

- Refresh the Mailboxes, you will see the disconnected mailbox with a Red x.
- Right Click > Purge.
PS. You might want to keep it for a certain period of time in case there's
something you might like to retreive it.
