Well IMO the server should be patched at least until SBS SP2 But follow the Directions and it works.
However If you want to access it Remotely you will have to Add a Port for SSL (Use existing Web Cert.) Additionally Try not to Add Links on the left.(for Remote Access) it seems adding TABs work better remotely. (I haven't investigated why but sometimes links you create on the left don't work remotely.)
Additional tip, Build the Site "FIRST" before you add content and go Live.. (This way you can remove something and reconfigure it.)
Test test test before you go live.
