Is pinging the only issue? If yes, then it's possible that the firewall is preventing the ping. That can be solved by going to 'Administrative Tools' / 'Windows Firewall with Advanced Security' and enable the 'File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request)' under 'Inbound Rules'
