CEICW wizard fails with "unable to configure network connection" e
Tad Price 13.07.2007 07:10:01
I'm getting the following error when I try to use the Configure E-mail and
Internet Connection Wizard in SBS 2003 to configure the Internet to use my
cable modem:

"The wizard is unable to configure the network connection to your ISP.
Ensure that the cable for the network adapter is working properly and is
connected to a switch or hub that has power."

Note that I'm able to connect to the Internet fine locally, so there should
no physical cabling or other issues. It only fails when I try to run through
the CEICW wizard.

Here are the options in the wizard which I chose:
1. Connection Type = Broadband
2. My server uses "A direct broadband connection"
3. "Obtain an IP address automatically (use DHCP)"

The above error occurs after clicking "Next" after specifying the Network
Connection information.

Any ideas on how to work around this? Thanks...

Is the Modem a Modem/Router ?
Try "Local Router device with an IP Address"

Might be better to use a static IP on the SBS NIC?
