Unable to connect to XP PC using Terminal Services Manager "Adrian" <nospam[ at ]hotmail.com> 10.07.2007 14:21:34 I am trying to remotely control a Windows XP (SP2) using Terminal Services Manager from a Windows 2003 server. Although I can see the PC in Terminal Services Manager I get a message saying 'You could not be authentificated on this server'. I have changed the DWord for TSAdvertise and TSEnabled to 1, switched off the firewall and added myself to the local group of Remote Users. I can connect to it using the RDP client. We have 3 other XP machines that we can connect to via the Terminal Services Manager with no problem. Any advice most welcome. Adrian

Also, on the XP machine, please verify: 1. registry key HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TerminalServer\AllowRemoteRPC is set to 1. A reboot maybe required if you change this setting. 2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\fDenyTSConnections is set to 0. 3. Disable "Force Guest" logon. goto to local security pololicy (secpol.msc)->Security Settings->Local Policies->Security Options->Network access: Sharing and security model for local accounts, set to "Classic" On the machine that runs tsadmin.exe, 1 Make sure key manager does not contain the XP machines name, goto Control panel->Stored User Names and Passwords.
