Steven, the biggest choice is what you'd like for resolution. If you want
1400x1050, then you can only get it on the non-touch model. Same with the
outdoor-viewable screen.

I've had both the X60 and now the X61, and I've opted for the non-touch each
time. Once I used 1400x1050, using 1024x768 seems like 800x600, things are
so large.

On the other hand, if you won't be using ink all that much, but want the
convenience of touch with your finger rather than a pen, then go for that
one.

It's really a choice of what you think will work better with the way you
plan to use your Tablet.

And how well you see!
I've got very good vision but would never squeeze 1400 + on 12 " screen.
Unless you use it fewer than 2 hours a day.
MVPs are not to trust on that, they see through their laptop... just
kidding'
My tablet is 1024x768 on 12" and this line is less than 1/4 inch high.I
believe it is small enough.
Good luck

Andre, I've had to wear glasses since second grade. One thing I don't have
is good vision. Besides, when you have a 1400x1050, you can easily change
back to 1152 or even 800. It's also not hard to change the dpi so that
icons and text are the most comfortable.

If you have a max of 1024x768, you can't move to 1152 or 1400 unless you're
willing to scroll to see the rest of the screen.
I used a 1024 for many years, but now that I've moved to 1400, 1024 just
looks huge. As I said about ink and ink/touch, it's a matter of personal
preference.

I also think 1440 is too high a resolution for that screen size. Gateway has
a pretty good alternative which is 1280px widescreen at 12" which also has
dual input. But it looks like you pulled the trigger. :)

Enjoy your new tablet. I'm hoping to have some neat touch improvements in
the next version of TEO.

"Steven Toney" <toneys[ at ]ibm.net> 02.07.2007 22:28:54
thanks

I've used thinkpads for years - so I was a bit biased

I think it will fine for my specific personal uses...

I just gave my last T-something thinkpad to my niece and felt the need after
a month of no laptop.......................;-)
