windows fundamentals for legacy pc's
pinky3 16.06.2007 15:41:01
i'm upgrading the os from our oldest pc's to windows fundamentals for legacy
pc's
this os is based on winxp sp2

i can install the shared toolkit, but when i try to restrict a user or use
the diskprotection with the gui, it doesn't give a fault but it doesn't work.
when i try to do it with the command line and de .wfs files i get an
error script "c:\program" doesn't excist. its trying to acces a script but
it can't read pass the space

i'm now trying to uninstall but, it gives a same error: a script required
for this install to complete could not be run.

is there a simple bypass ???
my guess is that wflpc uses the command instead of the cmd (when you
type in run) command is more bound to dos with only 6character and no space
names. i searched command.com on the winflpc, but it doesn't exist.

in the scripts there is a cmdlinehere and cmdon whitch i tried:
results:
restrict.wsf = type mismatch:'oShell.ExpandEnvironmentStrings'
diskprotect.wsf = whatever i try the /status remains on, but doesn't work
it first complained about upperfilters, but that was gone after

ok manual for wflpc:

install customized:
with admin tools and iexplore

after installation immediatly install the shared computer
and set up all till disk protection
(disk protection will keep asking to restart, after each restart)

now install directx ( i don't know if this is mandatory but it will
make your graphics go smoother)

make an update (about 50 items)

after the update you will be able to activate the diskprotection
disable diskprotection and install windows defender and other

(i'm writing this from a celeron333 with 128mb pc100 and 4gb hd
with windows fundamentals for legacy pc's locked with shared computer toolkit)
