DFS guide
Chris 12.07.2007 23:18:01
can someone provide me an article how to set up DFS with W2003? I found an
article for R2 but I'm running Win2k3 SP2. My problem is that how to create
a link. When creating root I selected a local existing folder c:\documents
then DFS made it shared. When creating a new link I put name as Sales then
selected the Documents share. DFS created a unshared folder under
c:\documents\sales.

1. I can't access this sales folder from the server console. I think it
might be designed that.
2. when I browsed to \\xyz.com\documents I was able to see sales. But when
I click on Sales it opens another Sales, on and on till 6 or 7 then gave me
an access error.

Do I have to make sales folder shared before I created the link?

Thanks,
