So I want to use DFS to share the entire documents repository of a small organization (40 person non-profit) between 2 sites. I'm a bit confused about limits both on the domain-based namespace and for replication.
I saw another post that said that the 5,000 folder limit on domain based namespaces isn't really about sub-folders - it's about root folders.
Then I saw another post about replication limits that led to a blog at http://blogs.technet.com/filecab/archive/2005/12/12/Understanding-DFS-Replication-_2200_limits_2200_.aspx which seems to be a very well written article, but still leaves me confused about whether we are counting subfolders.
So here's my story: We have a single shared folder containing 114,000 files in 9,300 folders accounting for 92 gigabytes on disk. In the root of the share there are 60 folders, thus the tree is fairly deep. But most of these files are seldom visited and I'm sure we've never had more than 1000 files changing per day.
Again, with 2 sites, am I going to hit replication or namespace limits with this deployment?
TIA,
Karim
