Hello,
I've set up a DFSR replication group, with the intention of mirroring the files on one server to another.
It seems to be working OK. I can create new files inside the replicated folders and they appear on the other server within seconds.
But the first server already has several gigabytes of files which I want to replicate across to the other server, but they did not move after the initial 1-hour wait.
The replication has not occurred even after waiting 48 hours. When I tried to use Robocopy, the files copied like normal, but then I noticed that the destination files were being erased almost immediately.
What's going on here?
Best regards,

Just so I understand:
You created a test RG with a test RF - you put some files on the upstream server and they replicate just fine. You then take an existing folder on the upstream server and configure it to replicate - the files fail to replicate to the downstream. If you manually copy one of its files to the downstream outside of DFSR, it immediately gets deleted.
Is that right?

I better try again, I'm certain that I didn't speak clearly. Sorry, Ned.
The folder on server1 was preexisting, and had 20-odd gigabytes of data already in it.
I used the wizard to assign the file server role to both servers.
I created an empty folder server2.
I set up an RG which included the two servers, and an RF between the two folders.
Initial replication never took place - ie, the 20-odd GB of data never replicated to server2. Days later, it still has not replicated.
However, if I drop a new file on either server, it is replicated to the other server within moments. If I delete a file, it is deleted likewise.
Oddly enough, when I tried to use Robocopy to manually copy the data from server1 to server2, after a few seconds the files started to disappear from server2...in the middle of the copy. So, Robocopy would be running fine, then display "folder not found" messages.
What's wrong with my cooking?
Thanks, Ned.

That's... odd. :-)
Without more data it's going to be tricky to diagnose (I'd actually recommend opening a case with us for this, honestly). Do your DFSR event logs show any warnings or errors on the downstream server?
