I'm using 2003 R2 all around and trying to implement DFS and Replication. Using DFSUTIL, DFSCMD, and DFSRAdmin to script out the creation/configuration of the Namespace server(s), folder targets, replication group(s), etc. I am able to create everything and it all works correctly. I have two questions/problems that I'd like some help with. 1) If I use the DFS MMC snap-in to delete a replication group that was created via script, I get a list of deletion steps with a warning that a Target Link is missing. I do not get this error if I delete a replication group that was created in the MMC snap-in, 2) Once the replication is established via script, the MMC Snap-in does not show a "green" file folder icon in the tree under the Namespace tree for each folder in the namespace.
It appears that, although the scripting working and it results in distributed/replicated folders, I am missing some setting or something the match the equivilent configuration created directly in the MMC snap-in.
Does anyone have any guidance or can point me in a direction to resolution on these issues?
Thanks
Robert Millman
