How to retrieve "Message" on STB
David Azose <drazose[ at ]comcast.net> 06.05.2007 15:01:30
I have a Motorola DTC700 STB. It is connected to my Vaio MCE desktop
running MCE 2004 (I think). The red LED on the set top box is lit,
indicating a "message". How to I retrieve this message? Thanks for any help.

Thanks,

I had to go through a few layers of menu choices, but I finally got it.
The so called "messages" were advertisements from Comcast.

I have to admit that I had a bit of fun making such a laconic post -
glad you worked it out ... Mainly, I was too lazy to go downstairs,
turn everything on, and write down the sequence. Thanks for your
forgiving nature!

Yeah, the "messages" annoy me, but we're a captive audience. I guess I
could get interested in PPV boxing matches - which at least half of the
messages seem to be :-)

I've debated just getting a piece of black tape to cover the LED.
