Can I manually change TV Guides
Pedro_Gonçalves 24.05.2007 20:29:02
Hi,

The TV Guides have most of channels mixed up.
Therefore I can't program Media Center to record programs that I want
because the guide is point to other channel frequency.

I've the Vista Ultimate.

I think that the TV Guide is obviously a file that is download from
Microsoft (or somewhere else), probably in xml format.
If this is true, it's stored in my disc and a chan access to it and switch
tunning frequencies for the switched channels.

Does any one know this?

Thanks,
Pedro

Hi James,

American users!

I live in Porto, Portugal. Do you know if there are other services like this
one for european users?

Thanks,
Pedro

Pedro,
I live in the US and it still does not work for me. I was hoping it might
work out for you. I have been dealing with it by knowing what is on and a
doing a manual recording. Not very user friendly but I make with what I
have. You may want to check out the site http://thegreenbutton.com/

Be safe
James

First, when you set-up the TV Tuner & Guide, did you enter your actual
country, postal code, and antenna, cable or satellite provider information?
Double-check that to be sure, by running through TV Tuner & Guide setup
again.

If that still doesn't match, are the call signs correct, but just on the
wrond channel numbers? If yes to this, you can manually re-assign channel
numbers to call signs in Guide setup. This is probably your best bet.

But, if that still doesn't work...

I don't believe Microsoft has a Media Center Guide feedback page for
Portugal yet.

Use the USA one and put as much detail in the 'brief description' field as
you can. Make sure you put country, postal code, antenna, cable, or
satellite provider information at the top. List the full set of station
call signs and channel numbers that actually exist for your locale along
with the full list of call signs and channel numbers that Media Center Guide
is listing for you. It'll get routed to the corrct group at Microsoft from
there.
