I had bought a laptop about 5 months ago with a Windows XP Media Center Version 2005 With Rollup 2. My lap top crashes every day with a blue screen. On rebooting I get the following message-Computer recovered from a serious error and send the report to microsoft. On sending the report I get directed to a knowledge base article-How to fix driver errors suggesting that there is an error in one of the drivers installed and thats why the stop error. I followed all the steps that were there in the Knowledge article but it didnt help solve the problem. The final step was to go for system recovery. I tried to load the CD and go for system recovery but the sustem recovery fails after transfer of about 3% with the following message-The file c;\1386\drv\dta\dta.lst cannot be recovered. I went for the retry a number of times but wothout any progress. My C drive is about 122 G and D drive is about 40 G. The D drive gets filled up with incomplete recovery files and the free space gets occupied. Could someone help me know where is the problem and how can I fix it. I have already tried the system restore and it did not help the problem. Also if I goo for system restore do I loose all the information that I have stored in the documents and favorites. Hope someone will enlighten me on this aspect and help me to solve this problem. Thanks for reading all this stuff and hope you all will come up with a solution. Thank you have a nice evening
