How do I reduce the size of a WAV file?
I did it once before but I forgot how to do it. I do not mind to reduce the
quality of the sound in order to make the file smaller.
I used something in microsoft.
Please give me step by step instructions.

Subtitles to movei in Power Point
I want to link in films to a Power Point presentation. The films are in
windows media player format and the subtitles are in SAMI-fils.
If I play the movie in Windows Media Player, the subtitles are there all
right. But not when I link them in as film from file.

Transition back and forth between two slides for about 10 min
Presentation to a large audience. While they are assembling, I wish to
transition back and forth between the first two slides of the presentation
automatically. When they are assembled, I wish to go directly to slide #3 to
begin the presentation and will use the mouse for the presentation.

Cut/Paste and Font size issue
I'm having a problem with font sizes when I copy and paste from one
presentation to another.
The slide has text boxes and a table (and other things...). There are
several different fonts and sizes. I used the 'Slides' display at the left to
copy and paste the whole slide.
When I paste into another presentation the font sizes are all bigger. The
resulting sizes aren't the same as tho...

movie with powerpoint missing after email
I created a PowerPoint presentation with a movie clip with custom animation.
It works fine in the “ppt†format. I save the presentation in a “pps†format

How to store moderate amount of text (~1000 bytes) a la PPT custom doc property?
I have a requirement to store a variable amount of text - normally
around 150 words, but perhaps as many as 500 - as a custom document
property. I'm bumping up against some sort of limit on storing strings
> 255 bytes in a custom property. Is there a way around this limitation? That is, is there some other technique that will let me store text as part of the PowerPoint document that's not...

Change font on selected text
I've recorded a macro converting selected text to superscript. This
works fine, as long as the desired changes are always in the same
relative position on a slide. How should I change the macro that the
current text selection is being dealt with rather than the recorded
one? In other words, how can the "Start" and "Length" values reflect
the current selection?

again problems with PPT, Producer and links to external video

2) following suggestion here, the movie was picked up from the very
same directory where the slide livese

ppt lost after editing attachment
Hello,
I opened a ppt file attachement from yahoo webmail and edited it extensively.
I saved the file by clicking "save" and CTRL-S on several occasions. Now
that the file is closed, however, the new version is nowhere to be found.
Searching all drives (including system and hidden files) for the filename or
any ppt files only comes up with a hyperlink of 1kb to the correct file. In ...

Upgraded to xp can't play videos, why?
I just upgraded my OS from 2000 to XP and have Office 2003. I am no longer
able to play mpeg videos that I have inserted into PPT slides. The videos
are in the same folder as the presentations. I also get a black box in the
slide like it is about to play but, no video or audio come out. Any help is

I occasionally download a video, sent to me by others, that requires
powerpoint to view.
My question is-specifically what do I download on the powerpoint website
that will allow me to watch an attachment sent to me? There are quite a
number of options, and I don't know which way to turn.

Bookmarks in PowerPoint
I think it would be a good idea to have bookmarks in PowerPoint. I have a
presentation that contains hundreds of slides. I am usiing this material over
several weeks. It would be handy to be able to bookmark the slide I finished
with so i don't have to scroll down.

Merge lecture and slides to CD, and still pause?
I have a slideshow on PowerPoint 2000, and it's accompanying lecture is on a
..wav file (35,000 kb). I have the timing on the slides set just the way I
want it and I've used the inserted "sound from file" option to start the
audio (and I changed my "link file larger than..." to 50,000 kb), which I've
then set to play through to the end of the presentation. My goal is to put
this on a CD ...

How do I add a slide transition to an Animation Effect
I'd like to click the mouse; This will fade out a portion of Slide 1 and
then automatically advance to the next slide after the fade is complete. I
don't want to have to use two mouse clicks to do this. Is this possible?

Is there a way to open powerpoint WITHOUT opening a new file at the same

I have 2 new Dell XPS computers. When I show a powerpoint presentation
the presentation goes black quite randomly. I have to press escape to
go back to the slide sorter view, find the slide and start the
