Beta question: How do I prevent Spell Check from starting?
I'm trying out the 2007 Beta, and find that every time I start it up, it
thinks Spell Check is enabled.
I go to Tools/Spelling and see that it is NOT checked, so I check it and
uncheck it, and that stops it. But I have to do this every time I open the
program. Is there some way to turn Spell Check off and keep it off?

An odd problem with screen clippings
Hi, Gang,
I've been using OneNote 2003 for a few days now, and I absolutely love it!
However, I'm having a problem with my screen clippings. When I try to paste
them onto a *subpage*, they won't stick there...OneNote automatically opens a
new page instead and puts it there. I don't WANT them on a new page; I need
them to be on the subpage.
Does anyone have any experience with this wh...

Changed files
We have links to files (embedded hyperlinks/file icons) on many of our
OnenOte pages. If we make changes to these files, either by clicking on the
embedded link, or opening the file spearately using it;'s host programme, we
get many odd results.
End result, sometimes the file saves the changes, sometimes not and we have
no way of knowing.
We think, that if we open the file from an e...

"Create Here" command
It would be very beneifical to have a "Create Here" command that would allow
you to choose from a list of programs (Word, Excel, etc.) and create a new
file with a link to that file on the OneNote page. Currently, one must
create the new document the the application, save it, exit the app, go into
Onenote and create a link to that document. A "Create Here" command would
save a lot of t...

Is it possible to recover digital ink from OneNote 2003?
I had around 7 pages of notes, mysteriously converted to text from digital
ink without my consent. The problem is, the notes were chemestry class
notes, so most of the converted text is unreadable and jibberish. Is there a
way to recover the digital ink?

Error in conveying Chris Prattley's Recomendation--The Workaround to the Prematurely Stopped Indexing Problem
I misconstrued Chris Prattley's advice re what to do when indexing halts
and search is unavailable. His advice was NOT, as I said, to fiddle with
file types in the Indexing Options control panel. Well, it was late at
night--His actual advice was to fiddle with OneNote PAGES. And it works,
after I stopped taking what I thought was Chris Prattley's advice and did
what he actually said...

Synchronizing toolbars and prefs
Group,
I am trying to figure out what ON files contain the configuration settings

(ii) OneNote option settings
(iii) the current structure/properties of the notebooks, i.e. what
notebooks are open, their order, their color, et...

For Keyboard Control of OneNote
While Tablets are very cool and all, it no longer looks like they're going
to take over the world. Why? Overall, keyboard remains the most effective
instrument for writing on the computer. As MS's contribution to all
notetakers, including keyboarders, all of the commands should be capable
of application from the keyboard by customisable shortcuts. The highest
priority should be given to those...

Is there a way to streamline to-do entries?
Spent the morning converting a bunch of my random documents and lists into On
Note beta – very nice product and I’m really starting to like it already.
So far the only annoying thing I’ve found is the To-Do list support is a
little clumsy, unless I’m missing an option I can’t find in here. I use a
ton of lists and I like to just create very simple checkbox lists easily.

Archive & searching
Two questions:
1) Is there a way to archive a page and/or section? I have lots of sections
& pages for different projects. Once I'm done with a project I'd like to move
it off my list of visible tabs in an Archive folder. Making my own Archive
section doesn't quite work because when I search it still searches the
Archive sections. I don't know how to restrict the search to only "active"...

Extract a portion of audio notes
I use OneNote 2003 in meetings all the time. Often I am in a meeting that
focuses on a busienss process that I am not that familiar with. I go back to
my bulleted notes and audio and learn about the process at a later time
without disturbing others. As a consultant, when I am exposed to a brand new
business process for the 1st time, I find this OneNote functionality to be a
lifesaver.

Info being held hostage
I downloaded the trial version and am nont purchasing because frankly it's
not worth the money MS is asking for it. Now the info I entered to the
program is being held hostage as the copy and paste function no longer works.
Apparently, MS thinks I'll plunk down 99.95 to get access to it again. Any
ideas on how to get my info back out of the program?...

I am working on a massive note taking archive for my company, and am
wondering if OneNote is even the correct program for this job.

Beta 2 technical refresh is released you should exercise some caution when
using embedded files with OneNote 2007 Beta2.
