Audio recording - WAV instead of WMA
On my desktop computer (the on which ON works fine with almost all
features) there's another riddle:
When I record audio, this is resulting in WAV files.
On my TabletPCs it's WMA files.
What's wrong?

Send to OneNote 2007 picture outlines
In OneNote 2003 when you used the OneNote 2003 printer it would embed the
pages perfectly, but now in OneNote 2007 it creates a box around the
document. There has got to be an option to get rid the outlines around the
printout....

OneNote offline and offline files
Hi,
First: The option concerning "Windows Offline files" in the options dialog
does not help!
My problem is: I've a network logon drive u: where all my personal files
are stored.
In u:, there is a directory "offline" where I save all my data that I want
to go with me when I take the tablet with me and have not network
connection.
u:\offline is also mapped to o:.

Language selection
A permanent source of anger - by the day and the hour - for me is the
way the language selection tool works.
I.
Why?
1.) When taking notes I'm normally doing this in German.
But most often things imported - be it things from the web or just
postings from this NG - are in English.
2.) As the spellchecker cannot be disabled for just a page or a

Lions and Tigers and Spam, Oh No!
Just my wry two cents:
How come the link in Outlook telling me I have a response waiting can't get
me into the forum with my message ready -- and the spam bots CAN get in? (Two
recent messages with goofy spam) I don't know about the rest of you but when
I click the "Response waiting" link in an Outlook2007 automated message
(telling me someone has answered one of my posts here) I go to...

OneNote: Ability to draw lines & highlights snapped to grid!
I run OneNote on a desktop, but find it difficult (almost impossible) to draw
straight lines, circles, or highlights w/ a mouse. I tried holding down
Shift, Alt, Ctl singly and in combinations to see if it would snap a line. I
like OneNote but really think it needs the ability to draw objects, like
lines, highlights, circles, squares similar to something like Visio. It'd be

Hi!
I've installed the beta.
Everytime I start, OneNote asks me to install the Windows Desktop search. I
don't want to install it.

2007Beta: Shared notebooks on Apache WebDAV?
Hello, folks. I've been trying out the 2007 beta 2, and so far there are
many excellent improvements.
But I've ran into some trouble using OneNote's shared notebooks on a WebDAV
server running on Apache 2.0.54. OneNote seems to not be able to find .one
files underneath a directory, and, from the server logs, it looks like it may
not be asking for files correctly.

How are you using OneNote 2007?
Wanted to get some ideas to improve my use of OneNote 2007 and get full use
out of the program.

What tweaks have you done to improve system performance for OneNo
Okay, here's the new thread to find out what others are doing to get things
running smoothly with OneNote 2007
to start things out:
I have:
- maxed my RAM to 2 GB - seems to help now that I leave OneNote open with
all notebooks so WDS can index - seems to help index stay current
- so that has improved my indexing/search

Bluetooth Microphone?
I use OneNote 2003 in college. My toshiba TecraM4 microphone stinks. As most
tablet mics do. I can use a wired Sony directional mic, but my classroom
deskspace is limited. Lecture halls are sound nightmares. My recordings are
nearly useless.
Does OneNote 2007 have any help, workaround , to support a bluetooth

How do I select and move drawing objects (properly)?

Okay, uhmmm, great that we now have a drawing toolbar in OneNote2007. I've
drawn my way to what might be a little problem. I can't seem to find a
"pointer" tool to select drawing objects (lines/circles/squares) or their

Install OneNote 2007 Beta
Hi!
I've downloaded OneNote 2007 Beta and I do hope that all the features that
are not included in ON03 are done in ON07 (e.g. printing grid).
Should I deinstall OneNote 2003 before? Or does the setup wizard update the
installed OneNote to 2007?
Or shall I install ON07 in parallel to ON2003?

Outlook 2007 Beta2 Email Not Working
I just upgraded to the 2007 Beta2. One feature from ON 2003 that doesn't
seem to work is the ability to E-mail a page. I've tried the E-mail
(envelope) icon on the standard toolbar, (Ctrl+Shift+E), (File, E-Mail) and
(File, Send To, Mail Recipient). In all instances nothing happens. My
Outlook email is functioning just fine when I email from Outlook. IE is able

Extra Writing Space
Before meetings I always type bulleted lists, and then use "Extra Writing
Space" to fill inn handwritten notes between the lines.
BUT - with ON 2007 the EWS jumps from rule line to rule line, meaning that
it is not possible to make space between the default ON textsize, which
makes 2 textlines for each rule line.
Is this change done for a reason!?!?

Annotating existing audio/video
In OneNote 2007, annotating existing audio/video should be possible. I
realize that inserting audio is possible and taking new notes works, but you
have to create a copy of the file in order to do this - having duplicates of
everything is not my cup of tea. I prefer to keep all of my related audio
(lectures) in the same folder, for easy backup, transfer etc.

Inserting pages e-mailed to me
While at work, I emailed a section of my notebook to myself at my home email
address so I could insert it in my OneNote 2003 notebook there. Now I can't
figure out how to actually do that, nor do I know for sure whether it's even
possible.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't want to insert it as a
document picture but as the actual page/section in the notebook.

Converting Page to Subpage -- Patrick!
This has been discussed before, but Kathy J's explanation is virtually

Design bug in deleting last page of section
A row of pages as usally found on the right hand side ends in an
"untitled" page. User mistakenly thinks this page is surplusage and right
clicks on it and chooses delete. The untitled page is not deleted, but the
last named page is. The user might not even know this happened.

A word of caution about registry cleaners
ON 2007 beta testers using WDS 3 beta should be very careful in using
registry cleaners. They all seem to remove essential WDs 3 components,
presumably because they are somehow misled by the lack of an interface. If
you use one, I would suggest creating a system restore point first and
then checking whether WDS 3 is working by looking in Indexing Options
control panel.

OneNote 2007 Beta - Hyperlink to Word
I have created some hyperlinks to Word documents that appear to work fine,
except when I go to save the word document I get a message saying it is in
"read-only" mode. I am not sure why word is opening the document in
read-only mode? The file is not open in any other application....
