Office 2003 upgrade problems
I have created a Windows Transform File (MST) using the Custom
Installation Wizard in the Office Resource Kit. I have specified to
upgrade all previous versions of Office. But, it does not seem to work
in all situations.
Here is the scenario:
I ran the Standard setup on a machine that had Outlook 2000, Powerpoint
from the Office XP Pro suite and Office 97 standard installed. What it

Access 2003 cannot find administrative install point on network drive, others apps fine
Client: Windows XP Pro SP2 + fully patched with Novell Client 4.91 SP2

I have a curious problem here. Just installed Office 2003 Professional from
an administrative install point on a Netware mounted network drive. All
other apps work fine but Access says 'The feature you are trying to use is

2007 is not working correctly and has conflicts with MSAntispyware
too many problems to list separately but an example is that if I click on MS

has stopped working and Excel will not launch - gives an 'error 1317 cannot
icreate the folder C:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft Office' message. Running a
repair fails as the installtion file cannot be located. Microsoft Beta Client

Excel default number format problem
I have a user with an incorrect default cell format in Excel. His
default number of decimal places for a cell with numbers is set to 4
instead of 2. I have no idea how he caused this and I have no idea how
to correct it. In case I'm being ambiguous, here is the procedure:
Open a new Excel workbook, choose any cell and go to Format. In the
Format Cell dialog box go to the Number tab and choos...

I have an Office install with an MST for some customizations like adding the
Outlook icon to the desktop. Everything works fine. The one complaint is
that some of the items do not appear until after the users first run an
Office application. They get the little setup process and everything is
fine. They get their desktop icon, etc. Is there any way around the first

Office 2003 ans Sharepoint
I log into a vendor Sharepoint site to view files, mostly word and excel
documents. I recently upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2003 and now
every time I go to open a document on the Sharepoint site it asks for
authentication again. This never occurred with Office 2000. How do I
prevent this from happening?

2007 beta won't install on 2003 Web Edition
Trying to install the beta of Office 2007 onto my Server 2003 Web Edition
machine, but the install is bombing out immediately warning that the
licensing is corrupted.
Is this a genuine license restriction (I know I can't run SQL Server on it),
or a glitch in my install of Windows, or a WGA problem?
Many thanks,
David....

I am trying to get an inexpensive version of MS Office 97 Pro. I am
relatively familliar with Office, but I don't know much about the security.

install Office), will I still be able to install it? Legally, I suspect
sellers are obligated to uninstall the program, but will I be able to install
it if it has been...

Bundling all updates together
Is there a way to put together all updates for MS Office 2003 + Frontpage in
one executable package?
Since Office 2003 installs and reinstalls are done more than occasionally
here, it would be helpful if these could be run at once. We do have all
updates released so far downloaded and saved.
Regards and thanks in anticipation.
