After creating a table, the cell lines are all greyed out, and not showing up

column's grid behavior
hi all,
office 2003 sp2 and wxp pro sp2,
when i'm typing inside a cell witihin a table, sometimes when i hit the
right margin of the particular column, the column would moves to the right to
accomodate the text rather than the text itself warping around the next line
below. other times it is just the reverse i.e. when i reach the the column

creating a form with tables having multiple lines of text
I am trying to create a form that will have several rows and cells.
A simple example: I've created a table with 5 rows. I want a user to be
able to continue typing till all info about subject is input. Ex: When user
starts typing in Row 1, I want the data to wrap to Row 2, then Row 3, etc.
Even if I protect the document, when you type in a row, the table expands.

Word table properties should include "no page break in table"
It should be possible to prevent a small table from breaking across pages.
There is an option to prevent a row in a table from breaking across pages,
but there is no similar table option to keep the entire table together.
There should be that choice.

How do i set my table so that it does not resize
I would like to be able to fix my table so that it does not resize when i
type in each cell. I have already tried unticking the automatically resize to
fit contents box but this doesn't seem to have set the cells not to change.

I have an excel table in my document.
It lists invoice numbers and their amounts, then gives me a total.
What I would like to do is make a field in my doc = to the total
generated by the excel table.
Looking at insert/fields I don't know whether to use doc automation,
links and references, equations and formulas or if none of the above
are correct.

Convert Text to Table
I need to convert fixed-width text, delimited by spaces, to a table. I'll
end up with 5 columns. The layout is below, and I need the columns to be
placed like this (it won't look right if you're not reading this with a

Tables print vertically stretched
I have a Word document with a number of tables. Some tables are on portrait
layout, some on landscape layout. There are section breaks in between some
tables to allow for the different page layout.
For some reason the landscape oriented tables (which appear fine in print
preview) print vertically stretched, i.e. they are in Arial but the letter
look skinnier and taller and the tables ...

Fix the Office table formating problem
Spent the entire long week re-creating and walking on eggshells trying to

Text wrapping in a table...
I have a document with a 30 line table inserted into it. As I am typing and
reach the end of the column, the text just goes under the previous section
of text. I need the text to wrap into the next row.

Splitting Partial Rows
I have a similar problem as Oscar above. I have 12 columns and 99 rows, all
filled with text and formatting (sections with gray headings etc.).
This table has three 4-column sections side-by-side. I need to add some rows
to only the rightmost section, but even via spitting cells, the whole
12-column row gets split. And unlike inserting rows, splitting cells makes

can't delete dotted line in WD2003
Hi
I use Word 2003 and I've just copied something from an Internet document
into a table in Word. By mistake I copied a dotted line that I can't seem to
