default dictionary setting will not stay
Hi:
I have MS Office 2003, when I installed it everything worked fine. Now,
however, when I use it, the spell checker and such always seems to to be
locking in on Spanish. Everytime I reset the language to default to English
U.S., it will work for a little while, but then all of a sudden, with in the
same docuement, it will revert back to spanish. I am wondering if this is
somethin...

Microsoft Word 2003 French grammar checker not as good as Word 98/2000?
Hi,
One of users in our organization is complaining that the French grammar
checking feature in Word 2003 is not as good as it used to be in Word
98 and Word 2000. Is it true? She thinks that Word 2003 doesn't pick up
the obvious french grammatical errors. In the older versions the
grammar checker would pick up on lack of agreement between/among verbs
in the same sentence or even paragrap...

"Ignore original message text in reply or forward" fails with Word as email editor
According to
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP052430881033.aspx, the
"Ignore original message text in reply or forward" applies to "both Outlook
and Microsoft Word editors". However, in using MS Word 2003 as the email
editor for MS Outlook 2003, I'm finding that the entire message is spell
checked when the original message is included in a reply. I don't have the
setting sele...

My spell check doesn't work.
I'm running a standalone PC with the following:
- MS XP Pro, SP2
- MS Word 2002, SP3
Spell check used to work and highlight misspellings with a wavy red
underline. Then spell check suddenly stopped working. I wasn't making any
changes to my PC or to Word at the time that spell check stopped working.
Now Word does not flag misspelled words as I type, and if I press F7, Word
finds no e...

Grammar and capitalisation
Hi, there I have asked this question before, but lost contact, so will try
again
I'm having trouble with the grammar check and capitalisation. Every time I
make a list, with the words starting in lower case, it underlines them green
as if there is a grammar error. I have turned off check capitalisation in
the grammar preferences, yet it still checks for them. Also when I select
ignore a...

I am using Word 2000 and for some reason the spell check does not recognise
the word "hsa" as incorrect, it should be "has"
Every other word appears to be checked correctly.
I have tired to research this but simply got confused.
Any guidance would really be appreciated

Spell Checker - no dialogue box appears
Hello all,
I've got this occasional problem using the following:
MS Word - 2003 version
XP Prof SP 2
Occasionally when using spell checker an error occurs when using it. I press
the icon and a word is highlighted as it is spelt wrong, but no dialogue box
appears to make a spelling suggestion.
If the document is closed and restarted it works fine.
Has anyone come across this before...

Word 2000 spell check issues after installing Project 2002
I have been running Office 2000 standard in english with a swedish

with English documents):

Autocorrect help please
I would like to automatically replace some of my old fashioned typing
style with a more up to date typing style, but no matter how hard I
try to improve my typing, I cannot always get it right!
I learnt to type on a typewriter, and my teacher taught me to always
press the space bar twice after a full stop (aka a period).
I happily enter a single space after a comma - ", " but cannot retra...

spell check is disabled after mail-merge
I'm working with a database application which uses MS Word and word
documents for reports.
If I open Word directly (just normal word-processing), everything works
fine, and spelling is checked
automatically.
If I go into Word via this database application, the resulting document does
not check spelling. You need to highlight the entire document, select a
language, and finally it will...

multi-language Spell checker in Office 2000
Hi,
I am having problems with Word and Office 2000.

I have installed Office 2000 sp3, Language pack and the Italian Grammar
update.
After a reboot, Word displayed abc next to Italian in the set language
option of the menu bar.
However, when spell checking the document, it is only picking up the
grammar, and not the typos.
I have ev...

Forms vs SpellCheck
I have read the cited collaborated instruction "How toenable the spellchecker

question is based on the document being a form with form fields and text on
the same line so the division of protected/unprotected areas by continuous
page breaks is not the answer.
I tried to write a macro assigned to a button which w...
