German and Italian Proofing tools for XP 2003 worst than for Offic
I'm an IT consultant. One of my customer was using MS Office 2000 (German) with the four available proofing tools (German,French,Italian and English) installed. Everything was fine. Lastely (and typically under the pressure of other external users working with the latest MS Office versions), they wanted to "upgrade" to Office XP 2003. Well, I did the update... and now, a simple and stup...

spell check and auto correct do not work on a specific document
I have a document that I received from another user, and am currently making changes to it. The auto correct and spell checker do not catch errors. I checked to make sure that the correct options for auto correct and spell checker are turned on, and tested in a new document that they do work. I believe that somehow the auto correct and spell check options are not functioning in this d...

Speller not in the registry?
Hi, I installed the Proofing Tools 2003 on my XP. Now supposing I'd like to move a speller lexicon file to some other place than the default directory in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof I thought this would be easy, just putting the path in the registry. But it turns out that even though there are registy keys for the grammar checkers, like this one for Russian:...

Office 2007 Beta 2: Bug in Spell Checker in Spanish
The spell checker dialog has a bug when it finds a misspelled word in Spanish. The "Ignore All" option does not work, it is ignored and stays at the same place. One has to use the "Ignore Once" option several times. This does not happen in English, only in Spanish, and it is consistent (happens with any document or sending an email, for example)...

Flopping back to Japanese input mode
So far Microsoft Word XP seems to be the only program affected, and only a new computer that I received a few months ago. Not a serious problem, but annoying, and I haven't been able to observe any definitive pattern. Prior to this, when working in English, the computer would stay in the English input mode. Now it has a tendency to flop back into Japanese input mode. There are several trig...

Yet another spell check that won't work.
I've read through plenty (34567890) of the posts here and tried some of the fixes, and yes I've tried the help menu, but I still haven't been able to successfully fixed this issue. In an installation of Office XP small business, the Word's spell checker is not working 'most' of the time. Sometimes the spell check does work, but inevitably the spell check goes bact to not working. I have fo...
